Kovai Kids Chess Academy has been functioning in 100 feet road , Coimbatore since August 2001. The main ambition of the academy has been to promote chess among kids, in and around Coimbatore.
The ancient game of Chess which originated from our country has a lot of Positive qualities that can be absorbed by the players, which will be useful in their real life. Some of these are |

mind control, patience,imagination, planning, finding the way to overcome a problem, accepting the success and failure in a balanced state of mind , finding the reasons for failure to avoid similar mistakes in future etc. |

Presently we are having a state champion(P.HASWANTH) with us and 4 internationally rated(FIDE) players namely B.Hari Pragadish(BVB), C.K.Varsha(SBOA), N.Akshaya(BVB) & I.Praveen Kumar(Kikani). Few more are expected to be in the rating list in April 2009. |

So far more than 600 kids have learnt the core basics of the ancient game of Chess in our regular classes as well as during the summer camps conducted by the Academy.KKCA has so far conducted 12 district level tournaments for school children and appreciated by the sponsors , parents and the players. |
