Kovai Kids Chess Academy has been functioning in 100 feet road , Coimbatore since August 2001. The main ambition of the academy has been to promote chess among kids, in and around Coimbatore.

Presently we are having 12 International FIDE Rated players in January 2011 FIDE Rating List.They are C.K.VARSHA (SBOA), A.VAIBHAV(VIVEKALAYA), A.VAISHNAV(VIVEKALAYA), B.BALAGURU(VIMAL JOTHI), P.KAUSHIK MUTHESH(KIKANI), G.AKIL(SBOA), J.AFNAN(St Joseph), K.ARUNKUMAAR(SBOA), M.EASHWAR(AMIRITA), G.MANI BHARATHI(ASHRAM), M.ELAKKEYA(SUGUNA PIPS) AND D.PRITIKA(AVILA) |

So far more than 1000 kids have learnt the core basics of the ancient game of Chess in our regular classes as well as during the summer camps conducted by the Academy. KKCA has conducted 12 district level tournaments for school children and appreciated by the sponsors , parents and the players. |
