Kovai Kids Chess Academy has been functioning in 100 feet road , Coimbatore since August 2001. The main ambition of the academy has been to promote chess among kids, in and around Coimbatore.
The ancient game of Chess which originated from our country has a lot of Positive qualities that can be absorbed by the players, which will be useful in their real life. Some of these are |

mind control, patience,imagination, planning, finding the way to overcome a problem, accepting the success and failure in a balanced state of mind , finding the reasons for failure to avoid similar mistakes in future etc. |

Presently we are having Two Tamilnadu (Under 9 Boys category) State Champions V.S.RATHANVEL(Stanes) and P.HASWANTH(Suguna Pips) with us and Eight International FIDE Rated players namely C.K.VARSHA (SBOA), VAIBHAV(VIVEKALAYA), VAISHNAV(VIVEKALAYA), KAUSHIK MUTHESH(KIKANI), RATHANVEL(STANES), HASWANTH(SUGUNA PIPS), BALAGURU(VIMAL JOTHI) AND AARUDRA GANESH(G.D.) |

So far more than 600 kids have learnt the core basics of the ancient game of Chess in our regular classes as well as during the summer camps conducted by the Academy.KKCA has conducted 12 district level tournaments for school children and appreciated by the sponsors , parents and the players. |
